One Week In

One week in to 2016 and I’m discovering new flaws in myself. ūüėÄ ¬†I LOVE making goals, collecting ideas and then throwing up my hands at the overwhelment! ¬† I know, not a word. ¬†I’m failing miserably at the 365 Declutter challenge – I have a donation spot and I bought a pretty notebook to set up a household management book, but that’s as far as I got. ¬†I did watch the budget videos and I wrote a new budget that actually works with our income! ¬†It’s is getting very hard not to run off to the store to buy the things we “need” before the next paycheck comes. ¬†I’m out of unrefined coconut oil (for my coffee), moisturizer for my dry face and lotion for my itchy dry skin. ¬†Luke is out of green beans and Kurt is out of chicken nuggets! ¬†I’m amazed at how lazy I’ve gotten at getting by. ¬†I did find a simple moisturizer recipe and just need to take the time to make it. ¬†I’m getting by with coconut oil for now.

I did undecorate the house yesterday, but it made me so sad! ¬†I had to force myself to keep going. ¬†Motivated by the fact that Karra was coming home from NC and I had promised that all of the Christmas stuff would be down. ¬†It took ALL DAY LONG! ¬†Why does it take twice as long to put away as it does to get out? ¬†I also had to scrub the wall above the stove cabinets because it was covered in black stuff and dust. ¬†There is no denying any longer that I need to paint my walls. ¬†We’ll see how that goes in the next few months.

It’s raining here again with just a few scattered little flakes thrown in to tease me. ¬†Maybe we’ll see a little snow next week. ¬†Hopefully it warms up enough to melt all of the ice from the rubber water trough. ¬†Kurt put one of the kittens on the frozen trough yesterday to chase ice pieces. ¬†She had a ball! ¬†Her sister stayed outside the trough and tried to catch her tail!!

And That’s What’s Happening on the Hobby Farm.
