Hunter had his first class at puppy preschool last night. He and Kurt both did really well. He started off rolling around in the dirt area where the dogs are supposed to go potty. He was then dusty & gray instead of white. He was afraid to walk through the big sliding doors, but once inside there were so many things to sniff & smell! He was afraid of the trainers big, chocolate lab, but warmed up pretty quick. We were the only ones in class, but there is someone starting next week, so the trainer is going to extend the class an extra week. He was very impressed that Hunter knew his name so well and how quickly he caught on to the clicker/treat training method. Kurt did excellent at staying calm & letting Hunter have a treat. I think Kurt really liked the clicker! When we left the store, everyone made such a fuss over Hunter. He was a big hit with the customers & staff.
Molly is still big & fat & her udder is bigger than it was last weekend. I have the vet (gulp) coming on Wed. to check her. It looks like we need someway to restrain her & keep her from moving around. She’s so sweet when I try to bump her, but I imagine if I was messing with her rear end she’d be getting pretty uppity! I’ll have more to report on that next week!
And That’s What’s Happening on the Homestead.
