Oh, how I wish I could tell you that it was finally my Molly cow, but alas, it is not. It is a much smaller addition, but we’re glad to have it. Kristen & I were on the way home from our walk at the Metro park & we saw a turtle truckin’ it down the side of the road. We turned around and she snatched it up and put it in one of the reusable shopping bags that come in soooo handy! (Catnip came home in one, too.) By the time we got to our driveway, the turtle was trying to claw it’s way out of the bag – I used the plasticky one from Sam’s Club instead of a fabric type one – good thinking! We drove straight out to the pond & let him out. He sniffed the air & couldn’t go fast enough into the water and away! We tried to look him up in the encyclopedias, but they don’t have many pictures. Kurt has a turtle sticker book that had a turtle very similar to him. The shell looked like a yellow slider although the markings on his head looked more like a painted turtle. Maybe we have a painted slider?? Oooo, a cross-bred turtle!! We named him Snapple although when they just stick their head out of the pond it will be hard to tell him from Snorkle II. We are the proud parents of TWO turtles in the pond!
And That’s What’s Happening on the Homestead!
