After soccer games today we took the kids on a High Adventure. Joel was getting a solar panel from a guy at work & they have a farm where his wife raises Boer goats. So, we went to visit the goats. The goats were really friendly & of course, Karra fell in love with one. They also had Anatolian Shepherd puppies that Karra fell in love with. Kristen loved their bantam chickens & the quarter horse in the corral. I had forgotten how much I loved living up on the mountain in Ohio. It is just so beautiful up there. Ok, at times I hated being so far from the city, but if we could just move church or Joel’s job to a more convenient location. 45 minutes south of church is the foothills of the Appalachians. Of course that’s also another hour or so further from family. Guess we’ll stay where we are.
It’s nice to look out and see the beginning of the rafters for the barn. Brian told Joel to hold off until spring because he’d like to come down & be a part of the "raising". I did manage to get in some sewing this week (which means I got the ironing done). I’ve started some Christmas stuff, so the kids have to knock & stay out!!
Kristen keeps reminding me everyday that we’re one day closer to her birthday. I’m not ready. I know exactly what we’re doing, but I don’t have it prepared. Get moving, Mama!!
And that’s what’s happening on the homestead.
