After two days of temps above freezing, our grass is showing and I feel the tug of spring. I’m thinking about gardens and flowers and vegetables and fencing the garden and landscaping timbers and herbs and bushes and compost (which my chickens are making in a delightful quantity!) and wouldn’t a garden shed be nice? and a couple of wire compost bins and isn’t this a really long run-on sentence? Friday was just so beautiful and we spent the day grocery shopping and then resting from grocery shopping. Today we went through our paces, but the house is CLEAN!!! Joel & Kurt even cleaned the garage. There is now a ton of junk in the basement and a future cleaning job down there!
I got the new Meyer Hatchery catalog today. Baby chicks are sooooo cute & fuzzy. Karra wants a duck, but we need to find one that wouldn’t fly away with every wild duck or goose that comes to call.
Joel & I went to Circuit City to see if they had really lowered their prices for going out of business. They haven’t. We wandered around but had absolutely no desire to buy anything. It felt good not to be a consumer.
And that’s what’s happening on the homestead.
