Psalm 27:4 "One thing have I desired; that will I seek after. That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life."

We did it!!  Kristen & I canned the peaches yesterday – all by our selves!!  My goodness, a hot-water bath canner takes forever to heat up.  We have 20 pint jars of golden yellow yumminess just waiting for a good snowy day to remind us of summer.  I managed to do it with only one phone call to my Mom.  Kristen had fun and is really enjoying the tradition of helping put up fruit. I’m hoping to find pears later in the fall and to make my own applesauce this year.  Kurt eats alot of applesauce.

We bought Kurt’s soccer cleats last night.  I thought he was getting big until I saw those tiny little shoes!  He was so excited; he came home & put on the socks & shoes and went out to practice.  He has a victory dance and a sad dance (he’s been around the dance studio way too long)!  I hope he enjoys playing as much as he loves having the shoes.

We have a quiet day here, catching up laundry and a few odd things that we need to do.  Kurt has school and I need to make a huge grocery list.  No workout this morning (I did load the salt into the softner so that counts as weight lifting!)although Joel fixed my stair climber by simply carrying the tools into the house.  I’ll be climbing again tomorrow!  Have a blessed day.  TTFN

wow, only 20 pints…. that would last us about a month! we love our home canned peaches. we do not use the sugar syrup the recipes call for – we use a diluted peach juice, and the flavor difference is AMAZING! Peaches are pretty much the only thing we bottle on a regular basis. and last year we did 109 quarts. we have about 24 left. we'll do fewer this year. LOL
good luck on the pears and applesauce. those are also good home-made.

  2. I know 20 didn't seem like many, but we did about 35 last year and had 7 left. We ate so many fresh peaches this year! I won't be buying as much canned fruit this winter, so we will go through everything I can put up.
