Well, a few things happening around this otherwise quiet little hobby farm.
1. My baby, Kurt, started kindergarten today. It only took an hour to get through everything schedule for day 1. I’d forgotten how easy it is to do kindergarten. Kristen wants to start, too, but I’ve told her the 25th and no sooner. I still need to do so much and I don’t want to start everyone’s school this early. Karra absolutely refuses to start her school until Sept. 2nd. She even managed to get out of summer school. Someday, English IS going to catch up with her!!
2. My Mary Kay lady, Debbie, is moving to Florida on Thursday. Boo hoo. I just love her and I’m going to miss her so much. There is a school in southern Florida that will be of tremendous benefit to her daughter, Liana. Debbie’s sure that God is up to something by taking them to Florida.
3. Last summer Joel set up an island in the middle of the pond hoping to attract ducks to nest there. Well, last night the wind blew so hard that the pallet that was resting on the posts to create shade, is now blown over and floating in the pond. Apparently, we had enough of a storm to destroy Quacker’s Island. Joel said it’s okay. The only thing that ever used the island was a huge frog. We were close to renaming it Ribbiter’s Reef. He’s going to pull it all out and we’ll try to establish turtles instead.
That’s what’s happening around here. We sure needed the rain, but now I need to weed in the garden again – my poor hand still hasn’t recovered! TTFN
